About Cross Game Manga.?

cross game the two main character is a boy name ko and a girl name aoba.right? if so then why dont they like each other since it suppose to be a romance baseball series. instead ko go with a different girl n aoba go with yuhei azuma......? r the two main character going to be together at the end does any 1 know?
