Catholics, could you comment on this?

I am not Catholic, but I agree that prayer shouldn't come from the earthly mind, but rather from the spiritual heart. Also, prayer shouldn't be made to Mary; Luke 11:27-28, A woman yelled out to Jesus, "Blessed is the womb that bare thee, and the paps which thou hast sucked", but Jesus' response was, Yea RATHER, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it. Jesus didn't place his mother any higher in authority than other believers.
