If a U.S. Naval Officer fails Navy SEAL training, can he attend training to become a Naval Aviator?
I am currently a rising Junior in high school, and I plan on attending the U.S. Naval Academy after I graduate high school. I recently began to think about my future after the Academy, if I am fortunate enough to be accepted. So far, I have narrowed down my options to three choices. They are Navy SEALs, Naval Aviator, and Marine Corps Aviator. Since I am a student glider pilot studying for the private pilot certification exam, I've began to love everything about aviation, and I intend on getting a powered flight add-on rating next year, so I plan on majoring in Aerospace Engineering, but I digress. I was wondering, if I am accepted to SEAL training after being commissioned an Ensign in the U.S. Navy, and I fail Navy SEAL training, can I still attend flight training to become a Naval Aviator, my second choice? If not, and I become a Surface Warfare Officer, can I attend flight training later in my career?
