Opinion on Lycra hoods?

I think lycra hoods are great, as they keep plaits and braids in place before the shows. Generally these hoods slip if they are the wrong size for your horse. Mine used to slip, until I brought a hood which had a strap which came up behind the front legs where the girth goes. It also zips up under the chin from the chest, keeping it firmly in place. So this is the sort of hood I would recomened.
