Am I just worrying too much?

I'm kind of a hypochondriac, and smelled a weird smell in my room. Outside my window is my mums car. The smell is nowhere else in the house. I'm pretty scared. I think it's carbon monoxide, but am I just being paranoid? Is it even possible for a person to smell carbon monoxide? Please help. Thanks.
